I’m Mrs. Debbie—a wife, mom of two active kids, former teacher of 10 years, children’s book author, and literacy-focused edtech professional. Like so many women, I wear a lot of hats—and at one point, I was wearing the same protective style for way too long.

I’ll never forget the moment that changed everything.
I was sitting at my kids’ soccer practice, multitasking like always, when I caught my reflection in the car mirror. My once-cute boho braids were now dull, tangled, and clearly overdue for a take-down. I felt embarrassed—but more than that, I felt tired.
